Founded in 2022, Black Ice Working Dogs was created by Cedric Jones, a 4th-generation dogman with a lifelong passion for understanding the deeper relationship between humans and dogs. Cedric recognized a major disconnect between how people think dogs communicate and how dogs actually communicate with their environment and each other.

 

Through years of experience observing both working dogs and pet dogs, Cedric discovered that true obedience and trust come from bond and communication, not control. He noticed that even off-leash dogs owned by people with limited resources — like the homeless — often stayed close and responsive because their connection was built on mutual understanding, not dominance.
